Today I took a few laps around the Green Cay Wetlands in Boynton Beach, FL. I watched a Least Bittern hunt, they hang between two reeds or sticks with their feet and then extend their long neck down and snatch their prey. Also saw (barely) a Chuck-Will’s Widow. They are nocturnal and are tough to spot even in the day time. Also watched a red shoulder hawk swoop down and catch a grackle then pluck its feathers and proceed to feast.
